An intimate, cabin-like jazz room in Katipunan with a rotating lineup of local bands, open Friday to Sunday. Reservations are required and the cover is basically a door charge. Worth noting: some guests report slow change on the bill and a rough time over booking mix-ups.
The Scene
Tago Jazz is a small live jazz bar in QC, and small is the point. The room is tight, the stage is right there, and you're close enough to see the drummer sweat. It's open Friday to Sunday, 8PM to 2AM.
Live jazz is the reason to come, so go when a set is on. Drinks are simple and priced fairly, beer and basic mixes, with food if you get hungry. People actually listen here, so keep the talking down between songs.
It draws musicians, students from the Katipunan schools, and older regulars who have been coming for years.
