A Katipunan cafe-bar with a Japanese kitchen — salmon don, torched salmon, cheap beer and free karaoke with good sound. Post-renovation it leans into the cafe side. Fair warning: the cocktail menu is long but plenty of items run out, so beer's the safer bet. Open till 3AM most nights.
The Scene
Coffee in the morning, beer at night. Ukiyo Cafe Bar in Katipunan opens at 10AM on weekdays and stays open till 3AM, so it changes character depending on when you walk in. Quiet and laptop-friendly early, a pub by evening.
Craft beer is the thing to order once the sun goes down. There's food too if you're settling in for a few hours. Music stays low, which is part of why people can study here in the afternoon.
