Budget Night Out in Manila: Great Bars Under ₱500

Great nightlife in Manila doesn't require a table minimum. Here are the best affordable bars where your money goes furthest.

The Budget Sweet Spot

You can have an excellent night in Manila for ₱500–800. That buys you 2–3 cocktails in Poblacion or 3–4 beers almost anywhere. The key is avoiding BGC clubs, which will drain your wallet on cover charges alone.

Best Budget Areas

Poblacion (Makati) — the best value in the city

  • Free entry almost everywhere
  • Cocktails from ₱300
  • The quality is genuinely excellent

The rest of the city's scene is in the Makati nightlife guide, and for a cheap night with a plan, follow the Poblacion bar-hopping route.

Tomas Morato (QC) — local favourite

  • Cheap beer and cocktails
  • No cover charges
  • Older, established scene

More QC options in the Quezon City nightlife guide.

Kapitolyo (Pasig) — hidden gem

  • Neighbourhood bars, local crowd
  • ₱150–250 for a beer
  • Great for groups

Marikina — east-side value

  • Unlimited-wings restobars and Lilac Street food-strip drinking
  • Beer buckets over bottle service

Antipolo (Rizal) — the view is free

  • No cover, no minimum at most spots — you only pay for food and drink
  • Split a few grill platters and get the best skyline in the metro for the price of dinner

Best Specific Budget Picks

Sulok Bar (Poblacion) — free welcome shot, cocktails from ₱350. Small and excellent.

PubLa Bar (Poblacion) — comedy nights from ₱200 cover. Cocktails ₱300–500. Great value for entertainment.

NEO Café & Bar (Poblacion) — walk-in, casual, ₱250–400 cocktails. One of the best balconies in Poblacion.

Wrong Door (QC Tomas Morato) — craft cocktails at neighbourhood prices, ₱280–380.

The Last Home (Pasig Kapitolyo) — great local bar, beer starts at ₱150, cocktails under ₱300.

Many of the cheapest nights come with a band attached — see the live music bars guide.

Budget Tips

  • Ladies nights are the biggest discount in Manila. Many venues offer free entry or free drinks for women before midnight on specific nights.
  • Weekday nights have no cover almost anywhere.
  • House pour (locally produced spirits) is usually ₱150–200 in most bars vs ₱350+ for premium brands.
  • Water between drinks — free in most bars, saves money and keeps you going longer.
