Makati Nightlife Guide: Best Bars and Clubs in 2026

Makati at night is a completely different city from the one you see at rush hour. Here's where I actually go when I want a proper night out — neighbourhood by neighbourhood.

Makati Is Bigger Than Poblacion

Makati at night is a completely different city from the one you see at rush hour. Most nightlife talk about Makati starts and ends with Poblacion — but I think of it as several drinking districts, each with its own character. Poblacion is the bar-hop core, Legazpi Village is for cocktails and date nights, and Makati Avenue is where the clubs and the late-night strip live. Here's how I play each one.

Poblacion: The Bar-Hop Core

Poblacion is the densest, most walkable bar district in the country — 70+ venues within a few blocks. Movida Makati anchors the DJ-and-rooftop crowd, and from there you can wander into a cocktail den, a comedy bar or a late-night club without booking a thing.

For the full street-by-street breakdown, read the Poblacion bar guide.

Legazpi Village: Cocktails & Date Nights

Quieter, more grown-up, and built for conversation. The Curator is the standard-bearer — a serious specialty café by day and an acclaimed cocktail bar by night, consistently ranked among the city's best. Around the corner, The Grasshopper does inventive Filipino-rooted drinks in a more relaxed room, and Run Rabbit Run is my pick for a creative cocktail in a low-key setting. For a hidden treat, The Blind Pig is a tiny speakeasy with a curated ten-drink menu.

Go here for: a date, a proper cocktail, or a civilised start to the night.

Makati Ave & The Strip: Clubs

Makati Ave is the after-dark spine of the city. Royal Makati and Fyre Makati cover the high-energy club and lounge end, Loop Club Makati brings the 2000s-throwback EDM, and URBN Makati adds an 11th-floor rooftop option to the mix.

Go here for: a late club night without leaving Makati for BGC.

Hotel Bars: A Quieter Class

For something slower and more refined, Long Bar at Raffles Makati delivers a polished, old-school hotel-bar experience with a generous happy hour — a world away from the Poblacion crush.
